SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the F15E Grip Assembly Left Hand Controller NSN 1290-01-407-5343FX, PN 707-7010 and F15E Grip Assembly Right Hand Controller NSN 1290-01-407-3205FX, PN 707-7011. ITEM DESCRIPTION The left and right hand controllers provide an electrical interface with several systems by means of buttons and switches on a practical, centralized hand grip. A hand grip style is used, usually of pistol grip design, and is designed to be mounted in the sighting station of the F-15E. It incorporates electrical controls for remotely actuating firing and/or sighting movement of a machine gun(s), grenade launcher(s), rocket launcher(s), and the like, or a combination thereof. Impediment to Competition The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Mason Electric Company (CAGE 81579), which maintains its configuration by part number. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Mason Electric Company is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the F15E Grip Assembly Left/Right Hand Controller performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Mason Electric Company for the manufacture of the F15E Grip Assembly Left/Right Hand Controller in support of the F15E aircraft program IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only Once Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
