A requirement has been identified for production of B-52H AN/ALQ-172 Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) Maintainability and Reliability System (MARS) Line Replaceable Unit (LRU)-4 Countermeasures Transmitter, NSN 5865-01-718-3672EW, part number 2688804G002. A one time buy for an estimated quantity of 24 each is anticipated. The LRU-4 provides critical electronic warfare capability designed to work in tandem with the other LRUs within the ALQ-172 ECM Suite in order to detect and disrupt enemy communication and radar/Electronic Warfare (EW) system operations. The LRU-4 provides high level amplification of Pulse Radar (PR), Pulse Doppler (PD) or Continuous Wave (CW) ECM signals and applies various modulations to the PD/CW signals. The LRU-4 is also used to recover modulation characteristics of PD/CW signals. This NSN is coded AMC/S 4/R sole source to be acquired directly from actual manufacturer.
