Subject Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the 3B Flap Actuator Assembly, NSN: 1680-01-162-5858, P/N: 4C95016-131E. Item Description The 3B Flap Actuator Assembly is a self-contained power transmitting device designed to convert rotary motion to linear (straight line) mechanical movement. It must be comprised of a ball nut, pillow block(s), screw shaft and such accessories as required for the specific moving and positioning of other components. The C-5 flap system makes it possible for the aircraft to operate at relatively slow speeds for takeoff or landing, and high speeds for cruise. This 3B Flap Actuator Assembly is part of the C-5 flap system that physically drives the positioning of the number 3 flaps. Impediment to Competition This effort is for full and open competition. No barriers to competition exist for this effort. Interest The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a competitive contract for the acquisition of the 3B Flap Actuator Assembly (NSN: 1680-01-162-5858, P/N: 4C95016-131E).
