The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research to identify qualified manufacturing/supply sources for a hydraulic motor-pump (NSN 1650-01-119-7429, Part Number 145HS520-6) supporting the CHINOOK weapon system under NAICS 336413 with a 1,250-employee size standard. The Government lacks rights to the data needed to purchase this part from additional sources and cannot obtain it, while reverse engineering is uneconomical, so the acquisition is currently limited to a small number of responsible sources under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1). All interested businesses—including 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns—are encouraged to identify themselves, but contractors must meet prequalification/source approval requirements.
