The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research to identify potential manufacturing/supply sources for a fuel transfer valve (NSN 1680-01-159-7988, Part No. 7-211642092) supporting the Apache weapon system. The applicable NAICS code is 336413 with a 1,250-employee size standard, and the Government is interested in all business types, including 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged, SDVOSB, HUBZone, and WOSB concerns. Because the Government does not own and cannot obtain the data rights needed to purchase this part from additional sources, and reverse engineering is uneconomical, the acquisition is currently being procured under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) with a limited number of responsible sources.
