The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research via this Sources Sought Synopsis to identify potential manufacturing/supply sources for a submerged aircraft pump (NSN 2915-01-312-7587, Part No. 114P4111) used on the CHINOOK weapon system. The proposed NAICS code is 336390 with a 1,000-employee size standard, and the acquisition is currently limited to a limited number of responsible sources under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) because the Government does not own and cannot obtain the necessary data rights, and reverse engineering is uneconomical. All business types—including 8(a), small, small disadvantaged, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns—are invited to identify themselves, but contractors must meet prequalification/source approval requirements to be considered. Qualified sources would be responsible for becoming approved and for all recurring/nonrecurring engineering and manufacturing/production aspects, including supply chain management, logistics, forecasting, long-lead procurement, material forecasting, obsolescence, and final delivery.
