The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research via this Sources Sought Synopsis to identify potential manufacturing/supply sources for a fuel metering pump (NSN 2915-01-327-7719, Part Number 160550-101) supporting the ENGINES weapon system; no solicitation is currently available. The proposed NAICS code is 336412 with a 1,500-employee size standard. Because the data needed for competitive acquisition is not physically available, cannot be obtained economically, and adequate specifications cannot be drafted, this acquisition is currently being procured under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) as having only one responsible source. The Government seeks interest from all businesses, including 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns, but contractors must meet prequalification requirements and are encouraged to seek source approval to compete for future solicitations. The contractor must be capable of performing recurring and nonrecurring engineering services to become a qualified source and all manufacturing/production aspects, including supply chain management, logistics, forecasting, long-lead procurement, material forecasting, obsolescence issues, final delivery, and any additional costs.
