DLA is establishing a three-year indefinite delivery requirements contract for an impeller fan used on the CHINOOK, with an intended minimum quantity of 10 each. The item is restricted to specific approved sources (Boeing, Boeing Distribution Services, and Meggitt Defense Systems), and the government does not own the data rights, making reverse engineering uneconomical. Offerors must meet prequalification requirements, and firms that can produce the item are encouraged to seek source approval to compete. Production lead time without first article testing is 360 days after contract award. Deliveries will be made to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

This is a sources sought notice for market research, not a solicitation, for an impeller fan central (NSN 4140-01-326-0722, Part Number 40928-1) supporting the CHINOOK weapon system, with the acquisition conducted by DLA at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The government does not own the data rights for this part, making reverse engineering uneconomical, so the acquisition is currently limited to a small number of responsible sources under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1). Interested businesses, including 8(a), small disadvantaged, service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned concerns, must meet prequalification requirements and seek source approval to compete for future solicitations. The selected contractor will be responsible for recurring and nonrecurring engineering, supply chain management, logistics, long-lead parts procurement, obsolescence, and final delivery, along with all associated costs. No funding is available for response preparation, and the notice is for information and planning only.
