The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole-source basis under FAR 6.302-1 for 23 each of a flight-critical NSN 7R-1560-016252789-QE item (ref. 74A122002-1025), delivered FOB origin. The item requires Government engineering source approval prior to award, and only previously approved sources have been solicited because the approved source(s) retain essential data rights, manufacturing/repair knowledge, or technical data not economically available to the Government. Alternate sources must qualify through the design control activity’s approved procedures and, if not already approved, submit the information required by the applicable NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochure with their offer. Offers lacking the required source-approval data will not be considered, and award may proceed based on Fleet support needs if approval cannot be completed in time. The Government is not using FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures, but interested parties may identify commercial-item capability; drawings are not available.
