The item is flight critical and requires Government engineering source approval by the design control activity; approved sources hold design, manufacturing, or repair data not economically available to the Government. Only previously approved sources have been solicited, and an alternate source must qualify through the cognizant Government engineering activity using NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Brochure procedures.
