The Government intends to solicit and negotiate a flight-critical spare part (NSN 7R-1560-017232762-H5, ref 06200-07000-043, quantity 1 EA, FOB Origin) from only the approved source(s) under FAR 6.302-1. The item requires engineering source approval by the design control activity, and only previously approved sources have been solicited because they retain essential data, manufacturing/repair knowledge, or technical data not economically available to the Government. Non-approved sources must submit the source approval information described in the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochures (spares or repair) with their offer; offers missing required data or documentation of prior complete submission will not be considered. Government source approval is required prior to contract award, and approval of a new source normally cannot be completed in time to delay award, so award may proceed based on Fleet support needs if approval cannot be processed in time. Although responsible sources may identify interest or submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements, this is not a request for competitive proposals, FAR Part 12 commercial-item policies are not being used based on market research, and drawings are not available.
