81--SHIPPING AND STORAG
This is a total small business set-aside contract for a plastic container shell manufactured via vacuum forming, requiring engineering source approval from the design activity. Offerors without prior approved manufacturing experience for DLA Weapons Support Philadelphia must contact the buyer for source approval request procedures, and new manufacturers may be subject to a pre-award survey and post-award conference. A First Article Test is required, with one unit to be delivered within 120 calendar days of contract award; the government estimates testing costs at $12,000, which will be added to the offeror's price for solicitation purposes. The production location must be the same as the approved source, and production inspection includes random drop and waterproof testing on a percentage of each lot. Performance and administration are centered on the Naval Inventory Control Point in Philadelphia, with all first article shipping costs borne by the contractor.
