This requirement is for newly manufactured aviation spares only; refurbished, remanufactured, or repaired material will be rejected. Parts must be FAA-certified and accompanied by an FAA Authorized Release Certificate (FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthy Approval Tag), and only government-approved sources of supply are eligible. The action is issued under EAF authority (formerly SEPA), includes Critical Safety Item and Contractor Business Systems clauses as applicable, and may require source inspection, acceptance, and product verification testing. Drawings are not available, and distributors of approved sources must provide an authorized distributor letter on the source’s letterhead to the buyer point of contact. A 12-month warranty applies, with defects to be reported within 45 days after discovery.
