The Defense Logistics Agency is issuing this Sources Sought notice as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in manufacturing the following items to be used by the US Air Force on the A-10 Aircraft: Item 0001 Noun: Right Hand Nacelle Center Section NSN: 1560-01-267-2365FJ Part number: 160D412000-18 Estimated Annual Quantity: 30 EA Item 0002 Noun: Left Hand Nacelle Center Section NSN: 1560-01-267-5423FJ Part number: 160D412000-17 Estimated Annual Quantity: 30 EA The Technical Data Packages (TDP) for these items shall be furnished upon request. Please send such requests to Kristina Lenderman at kristina.lenderman@us.af.mil and the CDs containing the TDPs will be sent via FedEx. Contractors that are interested in becoming a qualified source of manufacture for these items should review the attached Manufacturing Qualification Requirements and submit their Source Approval Request (SAR) to Kristina Lenderman at kristina.lenderman@us.af.mil. The following companies are considered qualified sources and are not required to submit a SAR: Northrop Grumman (CAGE 26512) Metalcraft Technologies (CAGE 0HCF0) The Nordam Group (CAGE 2957) The Boeing Company (CAGE 76301) Potential sources shall be capable of furnishing all labor, materials, facilities and equipment required to accomplish the new manufacture of the item(s). Generally, this entails the procurement/manufacture of component parts, inspection, testing, preservation/packaging, and shipping. The results of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. If your organization has the potential capacity to perform these contract services, please provide a response to the following questions: (i) With the understanding that there are several forged items in each assembly, please identify if there is a minimum order quantity (MOQ) that would be required in order for your company to consider manufacturing these items. (ii) Would the inclusion of a production quantity variance lower the risk associated with producing multiple forgings? (iii) If possible, please provide a Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) response that indicates the 1) MOQ; 2) Estimated Quantity Variance (±X units); 3) Production Lead Time, and 4) Estimated unit price (iv) What is your projected monthly production capacity for both the Right Hand and Left Hand Center Nacelle Sections? BASED ON THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE/MARKET RESEARCH, THIS REQUIREMENT MAY BE SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES OR PROCURED THROUGH FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION, and multiple awards MAY be made.
