DLA Aviation plans to issue a Letter RFP for NSN 2835-01-208-0169 as a sole-source requirement to OEM Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation (CAGE 99167), the only approved source. The anticipated award would be priced with lead-times as add-ons under an existing umbrella long-term contract/subsumable contract. The government intends to solicit the sole-source OEM by letter, but non-OEM sources are invited to notify the contracting officer and provide evidence of ability to supply, including available quantities, prices, and lead-times. DLA will consider such responses and may alter the acquisition strategy if surplus or newly manufactured inventory is in the government’s best interest. The requirement is subject to Free Trade Agreements, and the government lacks the data/rights and drawings needed to source from additional suppliers, making data purchase or reverse engineering uneconomical.
