ITEM: Diesel Engine Assembly w/Container NSN: 2815-01-439-8164 MILITARY (CAGE: 19207) PART NO: 57K6185 INSPECTION / ACCEPTANCE: Origin/Origin PACKAGING: Military / A (subject to Special Packaging Instruction) ESTIMATED QUANTITY: 1,944 KIND OF CONTRACT: Firm fixed price Offers are due on 6 May 2024 (reference the solicitation and any amendments for the actual offer due date). Offerors are encouraged to check the sam.gov website on a regular basis for any updates to the solicitation. The solicitation contains a provision entitled 'Reverse Auction,' which allows for the use of reverse auction as a pricing technique. After the solicitation closes, the contracting officer will determine if a reverse auction will be held. If a reverse auction is held, contractors must be registered in the reverse auction system in order to participate in the auction. Additionally, the contractor representative participating in the auction must have taken the on-line reverse auction training prior to the auction. ITEM NAME: Engine with Container NSN: 2815-01-439-8164 MILITARY (CAGE: 19207) PART NUMBER: 57K6185 QUANTITY: 1,944 units over a 3-year period END ITEM: High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) DESCRIPTION: This is the 6.5L Turbo Engine w/Container Kit internal combustion diesel engine used in the HMMWV. Although the kit is coded to the U.S. Government, the major item inside the container is the engine, for which the Government does not have data rights and is supplied by AM General, LLC. This notice is not an open solicitation (i.e., an invitation for bid or a request for proposal). The Government does not have technical data for this item. Qualification testing and evaluation is required to become an approved source. Source approval does not guarantee business; qualifying as an approved source only provides the opportunity to compete on future solicitations.
