This item is an axle used on the PLS Tactical Truck. The Axle Assembly mounts to the vehicle and allows the power coming from the vehicle's powertrain unit to be transferred to the wheels. Without the Axle Assembly, the vehicle would not be able to move. This Axle Assembly is a critical component of the entire PLS fleet. Power from the vehicle’s engine is transferred along a path through the transmission, driveshaft, differential, and finally transferred to the wheels; which drives the vehicle forward and backwards. The axle provides secure mounting for the wheels and differential. Without it, the power generated by the engine cannot be transferred to the wheels. This axle has been specifically designed to mount to the PLS chassis and wheels, which makes it unique among other commercially procurable axles. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications.
