DLA Weapon Support intends to add KC/RC/WC135 Mission Analysis for the CFM56-2 engine, F108 model updates, and F108 self-locking borescope plug set certification to a sole-source contract with CFM International Inc. (CAGE 58828). The effort is limited to the OEM or qualified sources because the required F108/CFM56-2 performance data is proprietary and cannot be provided by the Government. The mission analysis will assess KC135/RC135/WC135 flight characteristics and engine usage assumptions to determine impacts on Life Limited Part low-cycle fatigue limits and maintenance intervals, with findings reported to the USAF. The model update work will convert legacy thermal, CAD, and stress F108 models to current production tools and perform analyses as needed, while the borescope plug effort will certify a new 15-piece self-locking plug set for the CFM56-2B/F108 engine and support release of a service bulletin to the FAA and USAF. To receive an award, the contractor must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM).
