This is a sources sought notice for a Configurable Small-Scale System manufactured by Eppendorf. The equipment will be used to digest/break down fresh and stored food products with simulated digestive fluids in order to evaluate nutrient release profiles. It is a system with automated and adjustable agitation, temperature, and pH controls, that can run 4 samples in parallel. It will be supporting several food research projects (CFREP, DHP, DARPA/TBRSC, SIF) that want to evaluate the bio-accessibility of compounds/nutrients from foods and custom ingredients after in vitro digestion.
