Solicitation: SPE2DE-17-R-0001 This is a Sources Sought Notice. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is seeking sources capable of providing specimen collection and transport devices to support SARS-COV-2 testing for the Department of Defense. The vendor must be capable of supplying any of the following products that are necessary for collection of a patient sample and transport of the collected specimen to a laboratory for testing: Nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs, transport tubes containing transport medium. If a vendor is unable to supply both products, the vendor may exclusively supply Swab or Transport Medium products. The vendor shall supply NP swabs with the following characteristics: flocked synthetic fibers, flexible plastic shaft scored with breakpoint, and sterile. Individually wrapped swabs are preferred. For bulk packaged swabs, packages containing fewer swabs are preferred over packages containing a greater number of swabs, i.e. a package of 50 swabs is preferred over a package of 100 swabs. The vendor shall supply transport tubes containing either viral transport medium (VTM) or universal transport medium (UTM). The volume of medium required is between one (1) and three (3) milliliters (ml). One (1) ml is the minimum required volume. The transport tube shall be shatterproof plastic, conical, and no larger than fifteen (15) ml in volume, with a leak resistant cap.
