56/P Helmet and Components
DLA Troop Support anticipates a firm-fixed-price, Requirements-type contract for the Aircrew Integrated Helmet System, covering the HGU-56/P helmet and 25 component parts across 26 total items, with 13 items requiring Engineering Source Approval and the remainder competitive. The Government intends one award for a 60-month term with five 12-month pricing tiers, using a “Price Only” lowest-price approach, requiring First Article Testing, and contractor-furnished materials; production lead times vary by item, generally 60–180 days. Deliveries are FOB Destination to Austin, TX; Lansing, MI; and Pendergrass, GA. The estimated solicitation release date is October 30, 2026. The acquisition is subject to Defense appropriations/authorization restrictions and the Berry Amendment, which generally require covered clothing/textile items and specialty metals to be produced in the United States, its possessions, or Puerto Rico unless an exception applies.
