The DLA Product Test Center’s (PTC) existing portable CMM has reached its service life expectancy, the scanning arm will become obsolete after 2023. Significant improvements in laser scanning technology have led to increased productivity using scanning arms, with measurements taking just a fraction of the time when compared to older revisions. A portable CMM will enable the PTC to greatly improve workflow by drastically reducing test duration, its versatility will also contribute to improved capabilities and access to test exhibits.
