To obtain a self-contained instrument for measuring Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), a technique used to detect concentrations of chemical elements within a sample. The instrument optic measures the intensity of various wavelengths of light, which are proportional to the concentrations of the elements within a sample. The unit shall be a benchtop unit. It shall include an air cooling system, an auto sampler, control software, and computer to run the control software. The ICP-OES will be used in determining percentages of elements within a variety of test samples. Procurement of an ICP-OES will enhance Product Test Center (PTC) capabilities with state of the art material analysis and detailed reporting of test results, furthering DLA Product Test Center’s mission in providing high quality reporting to its customers.
