Answer: The “Plot plans” are the areas that need to be serviced see page 1, section (c) (d) The government's estimate of square footage to be mowed is 72,800 SQ FT. 2. Question: The PWS states that this maintenance service will only be accomplished once monthly on the 2nd WEdnesday on page 3. It also states that additional mowing services may be ordered by the COR on page 3. And, it states on page 5 under the APL "Shall not exceed two (2) times per 12 months. Further, the standard of mowing, mowing height per the PWS is between 2 to 3 inches. We've mowed the improved and semi-improved areas of Fort Hood for years and understand that the grass will grow several feet during the growing season over a months period. If mowed down to 2 to 3 inches when the grass is 1 to 3 feet high (or higher during the heavy rain periods), this will scalp the grass and leave a lot of windrows of grass clippings and will be unhealthy for the grass. The correct frequency for mowing this type of grass as Fort Hood, for semi-improved turf, is at minimum every two weeks during the growing season (March - November). This would add up to 18 to 20 mowings. Would this government consider changing the requirement to match the needed mowings? Perhaps changing the clins unit of measure to Each with an estimated quantity of 20? Answer: There will be only 1 scheduled grounds maintenance service a month and an extra discretionary one that can be ordered once a month if necessary, but can’t exceed 2 services per month. In the last two years we have never ordered an extra monthly service for this requirement. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 12 and 13 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. All contractor performance shall be in a safe manner, and in compliance with all applicable Federal, state and local laws and regulations, and all installation policies.
