Sources Sought Synopsis for LRU-36/A Life Raft

Notice ID:ROUK-26-0007

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Human Systems Program Office is conducting a Sources Sought Synopsis/market assessment to identify potential sources capable of producing and qualifying the LRU-36/A 25-man life raft. The raft is for emergency water egress for E-3, E-4, C-130H, KC-135, CV-22, and C-5 aircrew and passengers, and must accommodate 25 persons in standard aviation life support equipment, activate with no more than 30 lbs of pull force, and reach design shape within 30 seconds. It should include a life raft, inflation assembly, self-erecting canopy, survival kit accessory container, canopy support rods, bellows pump, knife, and carrying case, and must meet qualification requirements in the draft MIL-PRF/TDP. The market research will help determine acquisition strategy, including full and open competition, small business set-aside, or DLA contract, and whether to qualify manufacturers/facilities on the Qualified Product List, with small businesses encouraged to respond. Interested respondents should describe their capabilities, production, testing (FAT/PLT), quality management, packaging/shipping, and cost/schedule to build one raft for qualification, with responses limited to 10 pages and proprietary information marked.
