RFI Process control system plumbing and programming
DEVCOM Soldier Center seeks potential sources for third-party engineering support to diagnose, validate, and bring into full operability a newly installed Allen-Bradley PLC process control system for steam, water, and air serving hydraulic press/molding tooling. Current issues include failure to maintain equivalent upper/lower platen temperatures during heat-up or hold, inability to control cooling rate via feedback, incorrect trend-screen data, untested alarms, and a mist function that requires piping-rack vibration. Vendors must be US-based, employ US citizens identified to work on the PLC system, be licensed in process system design with steam-control expertise, and be able to read, modify, and update Allen-Bradley code; hardware implementation may be subcontracted. Work is to be performed on site at the Soldier Center with access to the existing PLC and piping rack, and the government estimates completion within six months of contract award. This is a sources-sought announcement only for information and planning, not a solicitation; no contract will be awarded from it and funding is not currently available.
