RFI Domestic Footwear Manufacturing Processing Advancements
The US Army is seeking information from footwear manufacturers with U.S.-based facilities capable of producing Berry Amendment-compliant military footwear, to identify gaps and improvements for reshoring domestic production. Projects should focus on increasing capacity, adopting advanced manufacturing, and improving cost-effectiveness or performance, but cannot alter existing DoD purchase descriptions or include capital expenditures for full-scale production. The Army Extreme Cold Weather Boot and Jungle Boot are excluded from consideration. The government anticipates a 6-12 month delivery timeline for footwear items demonstrating manufacturing process advancements. Performance of services must occur at the respondent's U.S.-based manufacturing facilities.
