The objective of this requirement is to support the Department of the Navy with compliance under federal laws and regulations governing records management stored off-site in a NARA compliant commercial facility. Through the PWS, the Navy incorporates the standards in 36 CFR part 1234, the NISPOM and allows for inspections by the agency, NARA and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) to ensure compliance.
