The U.S. Air Force is conducting market research at Edwards AFB to identify fully qualified sources capable of transporting SAP-protected LRSO flight test materials, secured in 55-gallon drums, from range/DoW locations to an incineration facility for witnessed destruction. The contractor would need secure enclosed 40’-53’ transport, two drivers with active clearances and DoW base access for Dual Driver Protective service, 24/7 freight tracking (DTTS, DTS), and security services such as CIS, SNS, and PSS, without directly handling drums unless program-cleared personnel are present. Required capabilities/certifications include C-TPAT, SmartWay, NDTA membership, DoD-cleared drivers, arms and ammunition transport approval, and hazardous materials transport compliance. Scheduling is driven by the incineration facility’s confirmed destruction date as the needed delivery date, with pickup at the range coordinated based on transport distance/time and possible priority rescheduling due to LRSO flight test changes.
