Sources Sought The US Army Medical Command, Regional Health Contracting Office-Central, Fort Hood Health Contracting Cell is issuing this sources sought synopsis on behalf of Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC), Fort Hood Texas to be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. Any requests for a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored. The Regional Health Contracting Office - Central has an upcoming requirement to solicit for Surgical Intraocular Lenses that are FDA approved to be delivered on as needed basis for Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas for an estimated period of performance 01 October 2022 - 30 September 2027. Salient Characteristics for lenses: Lenses must be FDA Approved. Must have a concave/convex optic zone 4.9 to 6.1 mm diameter according to model and diopter. Must be a single piece lens. Must have 0.36 mm diameter central hole in the optic known as the KS-Aqua PORT. Must have a manufactured diameter in four over all diameters: 12.1, 12.6, 13.2, 13.7 mm. Must be a single piece UV RADIATION ABSORBING POLYMER containing hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and porcine collagen. Must have 10-% UV cutoffs for phakic IOL LENS. Must have .377 mm for the thinnest central thickness lens -5.5 D. Must have .388 mm for the thickest central thickness lens +10.0 D. Must be sterile with a shelf life of at least 7 months. This request is anticipated to result in a Firm Fixed-Priced contract. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 339113 – “Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing”. The Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of the Small Business Community to include Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Women-Owned Small Business, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), as well as the interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of the Large Business community, to compete and perform a Firm Fixed Price Contract for this requirement. The type of solicitation to issue will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
