The objective is to develop the workforce and advance technologies to support current and future hypersonic programs, including defenses against hypersonic systems. OUSD(R&E) recognizes that significant capability exists in the academic system to advance the state-of-the-art in hypersonics and related defenses and support current and future national hypersonics and hypersonic missile defense programs.
