1.1. General: The Military Sealift Command (MSC) requires a CABLESHIP and crew to provide rapid response to lay, inspect and repair in-shore and deep water submarine cable systems using an ROV. The vessel shall be a United States (U.S.) flag commercial vessel, registered and operated under the laws of the U.S., and crewed by U.S. citizens. The vessel will also be required to perform installation, plowing, repair and maintenance of deep water and near shore oceanographic measurement systems. In accordance with decisions of the U.S. Customs Service, Jones Act compliance is not required of a cable-laying vessel. 1.2. Area of Operations: Operations will be conducted worldwide at depths up to 8,000 meters.
