Vendor will extract DNA from skeletonized remains provided by the Government. A cleaning protocol or enrichment protocol will be necessary to remove known contaminates that are present on the skull. Vendor will then perform a quality control step to quantify the extracted DNA and determine whether sufficient DNA was recovered to conduct Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) based Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) on the extracted DNA and conduct mentored FIGG analysis in an attempt to identify the remains. If sufficient DNA is present to complete the analysis and genealogy, the Vendor will move forward with completion of the analysis. If not, Vendor will contact the COR and cease work, only billing the Government for work accomplished to that point. In addition, Vendor will allow (at no cost to the Government) up to two Government personnel to observe and/or work alongside the expert genetic genealogist during the genealogical research conducted. Vendor will provide a written report as well as a briefing via teleconference on the results at the completion of the FIGG analysis. As part of the proposal the vendor shall provide: - Descriptions of all examiner/researcher certifications and vendor accreditations - Historical estimated or average turn-around for similar efforts - Overall historical/expected success rate for similar efforts (specifically, success with fully skeletonized remains) - Selected vendor must be an ISO 17025 Accredited Forensic Testing Laboratory.
