Request for Information (RFI) Animal Model Research General Information: This is an RFI as defined in FAR 15.201(e) to ascertain whether a commercial item exists that provides the capabilities described herein. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI will be treated as business confidential information. Nonetheless, submitters should properly mark their responses if the information is confidential. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expense associated with responding to this RFI. Requirement & Specification Animal model research, using precise genome solutions to better understand human disease. Contrator shall perform a Speed Expansion using imported cryopreserved wildtype(C3_cKO) noncarrier(Sox2-cre) homozygous(C3 recombined) (Stock# 409157) sperm and C57BL/6J (stock# 000664) oocytes. The resulting heterozygous mice will be intercrossed to generate a single shipment of 25-30 homozygous(C3 KO) male mice at 5 to 8 weeks of age. It is imperative that this model prevents cumulative genetic drift in these strains. The deliverables will be 25-30 male mice with a whole body C3 gene knockout. Once the shipment is complete, the project will be concluded and removed within 4 weeks unless another change order is requested to extend the project.
