The U.S. Government currently intends to award a contract for Contaminated Human Remains containment equipment on a SOLE SOURCE basis. The proposed sole source, firm fixed price contract to Federal-Fabrics-Fibers for Contaminated Human Remains containment equipment. The statutory authority for the sole source procurement is FAR 13.501-(a)(2), for purchases exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), only one source reasonably available. Delivery of this contract is intended to provide the U.S. Army Quarter Master School (QMS) the capability to acquire Contaminated Human Remains containment equipment. The purpose of this requirement is to purchase specialized containment bladders and associated accessories allowing operational Army Mortuary Affairs (MA) units to train for the safe containment and transport of contaminated human remains as directed by Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) in conjunction with the Joint Staff J-8 Joint Program Manager for Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (JPM CBRN).
