The purpose of this requirement is to provide a contract for the lease of a fully automated nucleic acid detection analyzers in order to test patient for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This equipment lease will be included in the price of the associated purchased tests. This will allow the department to identify relevant STDs for epidemiological reporting in compliance with Texas Department of Health Regulations, US Army Public Health Command, and MEDCOM guidelines.
