Removal of lead paint and painting mooring
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is conducting market research for firms capable of providing Professional Industrial Hygiene Services for the abatement and disposal of lead paint on mooring buttons and cleats. The work involves three tasks: oversight and air monitoring during paint removal, the physical removal and disposal of lead paint from 339 mooring fixtures, and subsequent priming and painting. The period of performance for the abatement and painting work is estimated to be six months. The place of performance is the St Mary’s Falls Canal in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. The contract is expected to be formally solicited in late February or early March of 2026.
