Davis Building Rehabilitation
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is conducting market research to identify contractors capable of design and construction for rehabilitation of the historic Davis Pump Well Building at the Soo Locks Complex. The work includes repairs and upgrades to the approximately 4,200-square-foot ground floor and basement, including window/door replacement, water mitigation, a new subterranean locker room, a mezzanine, restroom reconfiguration, MEP/IT upgrades, fire protection, and anticipated lead/asbestos abatement. Performance will be in Sault Sainte Marie, Chippewa County, Michigan, and will require barge-based transportation and load handling due to the project location. The estimated schedule is 36 months, including up to 12 months for design and 24 months for construction, with an anticipated solicitation in Winter 2026. The requirement may be set aside for small businesses, in full or in part, or procured through full and open competition.
