The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking firms that can provide regular and recurring waste removal services at the St Marys Falls Canal Multipurpose Project Site, mailing address 312 West Portage Avenue, Sault Ste Marie, MI, 49783. The Contractor shall provide and empty on a regular basis, two dumpsters at the Maintenance Support Building, street address 119 East Water Street, Sault Ste Marie, MI 49783, and one dumpster at the Storage Yard, approximate street address 550 West Portage Avenue, Sault Ste Marie, MI 49783. The Contractor shall remove the dumpsters at the conclusion of the contract. The Contractor shall also provide document destruction and office paper shredding services of a type capable of rendering original information unreadable, indecipherable, and unrecoverable, meeting criteria and using methods established in NIST SP 800-88, ISOO 2019-03, and in accordance with CFR Title 32, Section 2002.14 (f)(2). This Sources Sought Notice is for planning and market research purposes only and is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), or Invitation for Bid (IFB). This requirement is considered a new effort with performance-based services. The contract is expected to be solicited late May/early June 2022 as a Firm Fixed Price Contract. The contractor will provide services for a full year beginning 01 July 2022 through 30 June 2023. The contract will also include four (4) option years. The result of the market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement and feasible set-aside opportunities. Any information submitted by respondents to this Sources Sought Notice is voluntary. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this Sources Sought Notice. This Sources Sought Notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided. The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely within the Government's discretion. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 562111, which has a small business size standard of $41.5 million. Interested and qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The responses received to this Notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed five (5) pages, including the Sources Sought Information Form. Please include all pages in one (1) .pdf file for submission. Attachments with files ending in “.zip” or “.exe” are not allowable and files will be stripped and deleted from any emails received by the Government. In order for the Government to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the project, interested contractors shall complete the information attached to this Sources Sought. Respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission or information gathered as a result of the Sources Sought.
