The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking contractors for the FY20 North Manitou Island Maintenance Dredging. The contractor will mobilize dredge to North Manitou Island Harbor and dredge to the limits delineated on the plans. Estimated base quantities at 20,000 cubic yards. Placement of dredged materials along shoreline is as follows: beginning at a point 600 ft., south of the dock, then extending 3000 ft. south as shown on plans and in accordance with the scope of work. Demobilize once work is completed. Special Note: North Manitou Island is only accessible by boat. All National Park Service personnel and support operations are dependent upon this dock access. Preservation of natural and cultural resources and the ability to operate and maintain Park facilities is dependent upon safe access to North Manitou Island. Visitor access is dependent upon the safe operation of the ferry concession. Without dredging, the Islands would need to be closed. General Information: The estimated price of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which has a size standard of $30 Million (dredging) in average annual receipts. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) is intended to be issued as a firm-fixed price contract set aside 100% for Small Businesses. Anticipated solicitation posting date: April/May 2020 The solicitation package materials, documents, drawings, specifications, and attachments to the anticipated solicitation will be available only electronically and via beta.sam.gov. Hard copy documents will NOT be supplied by the Government to any interested parties as a result of this solicitation. Please note the Government will not be maintaining a bidders list during the solicitation period. However, vendors are strongly encouraged to review the "Interested Vendors List" found on beta.sam.gov for this solicitation. In order for interested contractors to conduct business with the Federal Government, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Managment (SAM) prior to submission of bid.
