This is a 3-year Basic Ordering Agreement for the procurement of multiple blood products to support contingency operations. It enables the Defense Health Agency to rapidly surge blood supplies in response to urgent Combatant Command requirements. The need for blood may arise during pandemics, humanitarian efforts, natural disasters, anti-terrorism events, war, or other military operations. Delivery orders will be issued against the agreement when urgent blood support is needed. This blood program is designated as a Special Interest Item by the Office of the Joint Staff Surgeon.
