Pier Repair Project, Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), Andros Island, Bahamas Project Description: This project is for repair of the pier located at Facility 1902, AUTEC, Andros Island, Bahamas. The existing superstructure will be removed, and the existing steel piles will be cutoff and incorporated in the repaired pier. The proposed pier repair is a closed-pier mole-type structure with a steel H-pile combination wall aligned at the existing pier’s perimeter that will retain compacted structural fill. The compacted fill will be capped with a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade deck. The new pier will abut the existing landside bulkhead. The proposed pier will include shore power, potable water, fire protection system, lighting, mooring hardware and foam filled fender system. Pier utilities will tie-in to existing landside sources. Temporary mooring for AUTEC vessels will be constructed to provide safe mooring for the vessels during construction. The temporary mooring facility will be constructed to minimize interruptions to AUTEC operations. The AUTEC pier facility is the only berthing facility located at Andros Island, Bahamas to support the AUTEC Range. Potable water and AC electric power are available at the pier. In accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 236 204, the Construction Magnitude for this project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. The period of performance for this project is approximately 730 - 955 days. The Small Business Size Standard is $39.5 million (M).
