NAWCWD intends to sole-source a commercial RF record and playback solution from Rohde & Schwarz consisting of an IQW wideband I/Q recorder, an SMW200A vector signal generator, associated software/licenses including the FSW-B517 upgrade, cables, and support. The system must natively play back Government-owned classified threat recordings stored in proprietary R&S I/Q format and stream high-speed I/Q data back to analog RF to stimulate EA-18G electronic warfare systems in a laboratory environment. The Government determined R&S is the only capable source because alternate solutions would require file conversion or non-native approaches that introduce unacceptable data-fidelity and schedule risk, and WesTest withdrew due inability to assure OEM-backed proprietary support.
