Carbon phenolic molding
The Naval Air Warfare Center intends to sole-source the procurement of 500lbs of Carbon Phenolic Molding Compound with temperature-controlled delivery to Park Aerospace Corp. in Westbury, New York. This is due to the material's status as the sole qualified drop-in replacement, where using an alternative vendor would require over a year of qualification testing and disrupt critical mission schedules. While this is a notice of intent and not a competitive request, any firm believing it can fulfill the requirement may submit a capability statement via email for agency consideration. All contractors must maintain an active SAM registration, and new registrations require a notarized letter, which can take several days to process. Contractors needing access to Controlled Unclassified Information must also be certified through the Defense Logistics Information Services (DLIS).
