The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis for the following items USB 1553 Portable Interface - 5 EA. This requirement is sole sourced to Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES), 12950 Willows Road, Kirkland, WA 98034 as the only vendor able to provide this type of Ballard card adapter that is compatible with all interfaces and is a direct replacement for existing hardware currently being utilized. Any firms believing that they can provide the AES USB 1553 Portable Interface may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice. The written response shall reference solicitation number N6893624Q0097and clearly show the firm’s ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the materials without causing programmatic hardship. It is recommended that all interested parties be aware that processing this additional information may take several days and are proactive in maintaining the SAM registrations in an 'Active' status as the government cannot award to an entity without an 'Active' SAM registration.
