The Naval Air Warfare Center -Weapons Development (NAWCWD) intends to award a sole source contract to Avionics Interface Technologies in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source that possesses the unique capability and expertise that can satisfy the requirement. The purpose of this requirement is to purchase eight (8) Fiber Channel Interface Units (FCIU) from Avionics Interface Technologies. The FCIU units are highly specialized and available only from Avionics Interface Technologies, the original developer and manufacturer. Under the approved class J&A, the Government may purchase up to fifteen (15) units within a three (3) year time limit. The FCIU units needed by the NAWCWD need to be identical in form, fit, and function with the previously supplied units. Key requirements are, but not limited to, the following: • The FCIU accepts 16 Fiber Channel inputs and has the capability to filter data. The FCIU has 2 Ethernet outputs and two PCM outputs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any firm believing it can fulfill the requirement identified above may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 15 days after the date of publication of this notice, which shall be considered by the agency. The written response shall reference solicitation number N6893619R0029 and provide a capability statement that clearly indicates the firm's experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability, and schedule.
