The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis for the Quantity 1 EA; Strikers micro hardness test system, model Duramin-40 AC1 hardness tester in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13. This requirement is sole sourced to Struers Inc., 24766 Detroit Rd., Cleveland, OH 44145 due Duramin-40 AC1 is the only system available with a carousel that holds 2 hardness indenters and 4 objective lenses and this is a system needed to replace an older semi-automatic microhardness system (X-Y stage is manual, microhardness measurement is automatic) with an automatic system. This notice is not intent for a request for competitive proposals; however, any firm believing they can fulfill the requirement may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice, which shall be considered by the agency. The written response shall reference solicitation number N6893619Q0120 and provide a capability statement that clearly indicates the firm's experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability, and schedule.
