The U.S. Navy requires contractor support services to conduct annual Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH) compliance audits/assessments at twenty-nine (29) Navy Reserve Centers (NRC); formerly Navy Operational Support Centers (NOSCs); located throughout Navy Region Southeast. These audits will focus on compliance with federal, state, and Department of Defense requirements in their respective jurisdictions. The audits may be used to supplement required fire inspections at the NRCs as well. It is recognized that while OSH performance at each facility may already be at a very high level, using an outside evaluator can provide a perspective on issues that may be overlooked due to excessive familiarity with operations. In addition, using a common external assessor will provide a consistent metric for evaluating each NRC, identify fleet-wide trends and common issues, and help with transfer of knowledge and performance/best practices across the Region.
