Navy weld procedures prevent welding a third time because the surrounding metal has become weak. The inaccessibility of this hatch possess an egress safety risk, and prevents the hatch from being dogged down/secured properly to prevent the entry of water which could cause uncontrollable flooding, so the Project Team is highly recommending to procure a new 57 Millimeter Ammo Hatch Assembly which shall be installed upon receipt.
