NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, Florida intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisitions Procedures to Renk Systems Corporation (36WJ4) (a large business), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for OEM Parts and service for RENK gear boxes and attached sub-assemblies for LCS class vessels, main Reduction Gear (MRG) Cooler End Bells at Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) on the USS Wichita (LCS 13). This contract is for replacement parts and are required to support replacement of the MRG Cooler End Bells (a) PN 6464620: Cooler end Bells: 8 (ea.) and (b) PN 6484822: HNBR O-ring: 16 (ea.) There are NO suitable substitutes for these MRG Cooler end bell parts. These parts are required by January 2022 to support USS Wichita. This sole-source acquisition meets the conditions under Statutory Authority permitting Other Than Full Competition under 41 U.S.C. 1901 (e)2, Special Rules for Commercial Items, as implemented by FAR 13.501 (a) and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements should contact patricia.a.martinez2@navy.mil. This notice does not constitute a request for propose, request for quote, or an invitation to bid. SEE ATTACHED COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice via email to patricia.a.martinez2@navy.mil . A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will be at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. If no written responses are received by Friday, July 09, 2021 at 4:00p.m. E.S.T., the contract will be solicited without further notice. It is anticipated that any resulting solicitation will be for a sole-source, Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract with a Product Service Code (5331) and a NAICS of 339991 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this requirement must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide this requirement as outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable to these supplies are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government that obtaining these supplies through a sole-source contract, then a sole-source acquisition will be made.
